My Top 5 Artists (Week Ending 2009-8-30) →
iamgreenman:
Thrice (68)
Manchester Orchestra (50)
Jimmy Eat World (46)
Brand New (32)
Girl Talk (31)
Imported from Last.fm Tumblr by JoeLaz
Which Thrice album are you rockin? This latest effort was a bit off in my opinion, but can’t get enough of Vhiessu and Artist. Though I commend their drive to get it done even if it had to be done in their own basement.
What constitutes being "grown-up"?
Because I don’t plan on saying I’m grown up for another decade or two.
Love the process and the results won’t matter

Top 25 college football game-day experiences →
This list comes out every year, and Husker Nation is always near the top. This season will contain the 300th consecutive sellout at Memorial stadium - not even losing seasons and the Callahan era could blow the most impressive sellout streak in all the land.

I think Tumblr caught H1N1 from Twitter.
Twitter has had some issues lately and Tumblr is ridiculous today. Problems like these are bound to happen.

…will not go away today. That means my new car will only be clean for about 2 seconds. Not cool weather; not cool. Possible that the atmosphere is crying because me and Cola-Corolla are separating.

The Post →
So simple, so elegant. The link just leads to a countdown to the time The Post will be launched. It is an alternative newspaper (online format at least for now) out of South Dakota.
Content will be written by contributors from all over the place and the topics will vary pretty widely. It will be aimed at a fairly young crowd and I know they’ve got some pretty cool stories about emerging...
Most Dangerous Celebrity Names on the Web →
McAfee (anti-virus software) has a list of the names you can search online that are most likely to get you a virus. Nearly HALF of the results on a search for Jessica Biel screensavers turn up sites that attempt to load your computer up with something you don’t want.
Then again, most of the people looking for Jessica Biel screensavers to display on their computer deserve it.
Notice there...
Dating in the Dark
whatthehale:
As one of what I assume is under 100 people nationwide who watched (DVR’d) the entire season of Dating in the Dark … I have a question.
One of the two people in each potential couple, all season, ALWAYS went to the patio (which means you want to continue your relationship even after you’ve seen your sweetie in the light). Always. It does not seem probable that there would be zero...
Gary Vaynerchuk on Duct Tape Marketing →
I’m really getting interested in Gary Vaynerchuk. I missed him at Big Omaha, but caught the video recap and I’ve heard he is quite the big thinker.
If you are in to wine (or want to be) check out Gary’s Wine Library TV which was a big deal even before it landed him on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.
One of the best pieces of this story is that garyvaynercuk.com is a Tumblr site....

FourSquare →
Quite possibly the most annoying thing ever created for Twitter.
I thought I was a little jealous at first that my city wasn’t available to play FourSquare - now I am thankful.
For Your Screen Only
I have a new theme and I really like it. It’s called “for.screen” - you can find it (and the creator) here.
My favorite part: On reblogged posts, a picture of the person from whom I reblogged the post shows up on my page. It takes reblogging to a new level by giving the person a thumbnail shoutout.
I also like to see the thumbnail I have set to my own profile on the page...

This maybe one of the most stunningly humbling videos that has ever been made involving me. THANK YOU FACEBOOK! WOW!
Interesting for iPhone owners. Extremely awesome for Gary Vaynerchuk and Wine Library. Teasing in the bad way for the rest of us. Congrats to Gary though.
VH1 Has Plummeted to a New Low
Forget all of the horrible reailty shows VH1 has aired over the past bunch of years (it will be hard for me because I think I watched them all).
Recently, VH1 started playing Megan Wants a Millionaire. If you haven’t seen it, the premise is as horrible as it sounds. Megan does things like immediately eliminate people that have their credit cards declined when they try to buy her a...
Twitter Will Release Commercial Accounts Later... →
So, here it is - the big Twitter Social Media news of the week. They’re not giving much information away at this point, but we know commercial accounts will make Twitter some money and they will offer some analysis ability.
I assume this indicates that corporate accounts being monitored and analyzed by 3rd-party agencies will be tempted to resume using the free version of Twitter because SM...
The Chiefs are so bad at football that they can't...
The entire pre-game (interviews, Chiefs history, commercials) was silent. Now, after 6 minutes of game-time, the sound has come back. I don’t know who dropped that ball, but it seems like maybe they should have had that under control.

well, hi Scotthale! Thanks for following me :)
Hello to you as well.
Your secret's NOT safe with me.
This reblog has been edited for length. Like football games on late-night ESPN. In other words, this is the cream of the crop. Only things I smirked at (or more) stayed on this list.

The answer blew my mind. I love that movie. Damn. [The answer is at the link. Click the title of this post.]
This is a great movie. The answer doesn’t matter as much as the fact that somebody tried to figure it out and the comments are full of people refuting every bit of it.

Trust Agents →
This is a call to action from Chris Brogan. This post seems to have caused my entire RSS feed to morph into a Trust Agents advertisment. Is the social media universe collectively drinking Chris Brogan’s kool-aid? Or is this the book that changes the common thought that books can’t keep up with emerging technology?
