A strong list even when not bound by physical location. Well…of course there are some hiccups in there too.

Who told them that was a good kind of organization to be?
You can only own a Taser like this for a certain amount of time before you just need to test the warning arc, dual laser aiming system, enhanced power magazine, and rotational pulse drive.
I don’t want to be there when you do that. But video tape it.
A necessity at your next meeting?
Here is an idea for the company that is suing this lady - Don’t do things that make people angry and they won’t tell their massive 20 FOLLOWERS on Twitter.
Also, if somebody tells there 20 FOLLOWERS on Twitter that her apartment (owned by you) is moldy, offer to clean it up and avoid the unbelievably negative publicity about suing somebody for $50,000 for a TWEET TO HER 20 FOLLOWERS.
She did not damage your reputation. You don’t get it. You lose.
There are a lot of websites that give people in a specific geographic location an opportunity to find eachother, purchasing deals, fun events, etc. and this is one of the best. Unfortunately, none of these websites include places I have lived.
So, WhatTheHale, here is a site that might offer some value to you. Companies can post a deal that only gets triggered once enough people offer to take the deal. A very cool idea that benefits everybody involved…and make those of us not able to get involved a little bitter.
4. The workforce is changing; cater to their needs.
You don’t need to install slides which go from one floor to another, nor employ “bring your cat to work days” as a way to boost morale. New recruits will expect a certain kind of workplace and will most likely be a bit dynamic, different and have a bit of fun in the office.
” —Zack WhittakerI’ll let the awkward use of the word Twitter* go because this is actually a pretty good article. Some kind of ridiculous examples and some solid reasoning behind the necessity of an online presence in today’s job market.
*AP Stylebook recently claimed that this is a correct use of the word. To me, it should need to say ‘Show Them You Can Tweet’ or ‘Show Them You Can Use Twitter’
Create a “Two Tweets and a Lie” game for your Twitter followers.
Not only is this a silly thing to create, the way you tell people about it is through an auto-DM.
Way to take a 6th grade ice-breaker and add the most annoying thing you can do on Twitter to make sure you don’t have any problems with your site crashing due to heavy user flow.
Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo will be open from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. with free admission to all. Throughout the Zoo grounds, visitors will be entertained by a variety of street performers that will delight adults and kids. The Zoo will offer on-going animal enrichment presentations that will include sea lion training, penguin feeding, topic enrichment with polar bears and elephants as well as bird and small animal presentations in the Mutual of Omaha Wild Kingdom Pavillion. Hands-on interactive activities featuring wonder wagons will be held in the Lied Jungle, Desert Dome, Cat Complex, Giraffe Building and Durham Bear Canyon.
Between 5pm tonight (Friday) and 11pm tomorrow night (Satuday), there are incredible things happening in downtown Omaha for free. Nearly every building and every location is holding osme kind of awesome event. The only problem is that nobody would be able to go to all of them.
I assumed I was doing a kind thing by following an account back on Twitter and was put-off by his “thanks for following here’s a crappy message asking you to do something or go to some website without any personal introduction or reason to listen to my stupid crap” direct message.
It turns out I was the person that followed him first - upon review of his page, there is no reason I would have done this. How on Earth did I start following you and why did you abuse my unintentional offer to begin a relationship?

This question can take multiple forms - but “the extra mile” may not be enough anymore.
Unfortunately it didn’t come with a Blu-Ray DVD Player…so, I hope the case is pretty.
You just can’t pass up this giveaway madness on Twitter these days.
but i would really like to change the buttons in the sidebar. i tried, but couldn’t manage to change them. a twitter button and a linkedin button would be nice. in fact, the button that appears to be email links to my linkedin profile.
Why do I follow @mikebilleter, @kareemy, and @jasondouglas on Twitter (and think you should too)? Find out in this week’s #followfriday recommendations.
Screw you Anaface. I also have poor horizontal symmetry and my innerocular distance is too big for my eyes. Despite all of your negative comments I still apparently rank 7.29 out of 10. I’ll take it.
I grew up in Omaha. I spent four years at school in Sioux Falls. The Internet and group functions have allowed me to socially network heavily with individuals in Minneapolis.
When I send a resume to an Omaha company, a return email systematically lets me know that the company is not currently looking for entry-level employees.
In Sioux Falls, members of a close-knit professional community (from CEOs to Account Executives) will sit down for lunch or coffee and discuss possibilities in the area and speak candidly about employment opportunities as they see fit. Personal introductions are often the chosen method for passing along names, information, and recommendations.
Is the difference simply due to size? I don’t think so.
When I send a resume out in Minneapolis, the recipient indicates they have read the email and at least glanced at the attached document. If they are unable to help through employment, they offer to forward the information to colleagues and keep an ear open for possible opportunities. I’ve run into very few companies in Minneapolis that simply turn a cold shoulder without staying in contact and offering assistance.
How does information flow in your community? Like Omaha: the ‘Black Hole’ model? Like Sioux Falls: the ‘Cheers’ model? Or like Minneapolis: the ‘Collaborative Potential’ model? Maybe something completely different.

For the millions thousands hundreds dozens couple potentially imaginary few of you that have wanted so badly to comment on this tumblog but have been unable, you now have the ability to do so.
In my endless effort to connect with the entire internet, I finally got around to getting some Disqus-hosted comment action at the bottom of this very page.
Please, comment away.
ScottHale (re: Call Me Al).
In a recently DEEP 140 character or less DM conversation, my brother and I have decided that if we are to become internet famous on our repectively favorite platforms (his being Twitter, mine being Tumblr) we are going to have to start marketing ourselves as siblings.
SO - TWITTER PEEPS - @kelcymarie is @scottjhale’s @sjhalestorm’s SISTER!! Does that make you want to know what I am doing, in very short snippets? When I remember? Very infrequently? Older, wiser (actually not typically true), blonder and further East … I rule!
(hahahahaha)
AND TUMBLR peeps / WhatTheHale lovers (there’s got to be a few of you, right??) … there’s more! ScottHale has all but abandonned his Tumblr account but OH the wisdom that it holds at equally inconsistent times (and links to his far more verbose and insightful WordPress). He’s even among the masses on the job hunt right now … BRILLIANT social media-ologist and smarty pants psychologist seeking J-O-B to begin his dreaded post-college L-I-F-E (I’ve advised against it). Go!
(via whatthehale)
Only one problem here - nobody cares what @scottjhale is doing because he simply states that you should really be following @sjhalestorm for any form of knowledge. If you want to know about Twitter’s hottest new contests, @scottjhale will help you with that.
This officially activates the potential of our sibling power.
A friend’s recent FB status … that made me HAHA aloud (good thing my door is still shut … har). (via whatthehale)
Chuck Norris is having a big day on Twitter for some reason.
